Affinity Psychotherapy

There are many ways of getting strong, sometimes talking is the best way.

Welcome

Engaging in therapy doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you.  Life can just become overwhelming at times.

We are happy to share our successes with others, but for most, it's difficult to talk about things that aren't going well.  We keep our worries to ourselves which can cause stress, anxiety and depression.

My name is Tracy Wolfenden and I am a qualified therapist. Through my practice Affinity Psychotherapy I provide a safe and confidential environment to express, explore and provide understanding.

What is Counselling/Psychotherapy?

Counselling/Psychotherapy is a talking therapy.  It is a time and space for you to talk about issues that are bothering you, whether they are current problems that make you feel there is no resolution or issues from the past that continue to impact you now.

Talking through these problems is a great way to ease your anxieties and help you find a way forward.

I practice person centred therapy which means that empathy, understanding and honesty are my key values.

In my practice I have helped people with complex issues such as suicide, self harm, DID, violent sexual abuse, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression as well as work and relationship problems.  However, don't feel that only those with trauma or who think of themselves as 'broken' need therapy, everyones issues and feelings are just as valid and everyone can benefit from talking.

I am also an LGBTQIA friendly therapist, and I have in the past worked within the voluntary sector providing counselling to those affected by HIV.

While no one can truly understand your individual experiences, by taking this journey with you, I hope to walk in your shoes and in doing so help you find yourself.

One in four of us in the UK will experience mental health issues. I too have had my own experiences regarding mental health, which led me to seek therapy.  The positive impact of therapy and my own drive to help others is what has led me to become a Psychotherapist.

I also really understand how difficult or daunting it can be to make that first step seeking out therapy. I aim to make this process as easy and comfortable as possible. As such I offer a free half an hour consultation for us both to explore if we can have a good therapeutic relationship and to answer any questions you may have about therapy.
